A few days ago I saw this gorgeous monochromatic photo display. Not only do I love the whitewashed beach illustrations in the frames... I love the ivory-cream mattings paired with the bright white frames against the white wall...

But then today I saw this similar but oh-so-different take on the same color palette...

I love the visual interest that these frames all in the same color family create without being too apparent.

What do you think? Too monochromatic for you, or just the right amount of diversion from white?

I LIKE THEM LEANED

When I told Marc that I was planning to lean our new super tall bathroom mirrors against the wall instead of hanging them, he looked at me with that "You can't be serious" look. I am in fact - completely serious. I've seen leaning photos, art, and mirrors in unexpected places lately, and I like the easy and relaxed feel.

Are you more of a hang them up right away, or let them linger leaned against something for a while and maybe let them stay kind of person?

OUR BIG PROJECT

Rarely do I get very personal on this blog, but I think might give you some insights as to where I've been these past few weeks...

Now that this project is finally in its final stages [we moved in January 1!], I am excited to share some of the first stages of the project that M and I have worked tirelessly on since just a few weeks after we got married...

Its been a labor of love aka blood, sweat, and tears and without my husbands complete dedication to being onsite everyday, this house simply wouldn't have become our home.

In early November, we bought this house built in 1922 [not updated since 1968], and began the demolition the very next day. Stripping about 60% of the house down to the studs. Our biggest projects were the kitchen, as well as the bathrooms.

This is where we started, where we were headed, and hopefully soon after many, many hours of painting and decorating , I will get to show you pictures of the finished product...

The outdated and closed in kitchen transformed into an open and inviting white with carrera marble kitchen...

The powder room adjoining the kitchen which was barely 3 feet wide, [the toilet is sitting in what was the old doorway] was pushed out 1 more foot so that there was a legal amount of space to move around...

Because the only full bathroom in the house is next to the master bedroom, we really wanted to create more of a master bathroom. By pushing through a smallish closet that was between the bathroom and bedroom, we were able to create enough space for 2 vanities, a walk-in glass shower, and small toilet space...

Life moves pretty fast - if you don't stop and look around once in a while, you might miss it. Those words characterize the last 6 months of my life perfectly... but really, these last 6 weeks have flown by in what seems like a matter of hours. So much has happened and I'm excited to share the latest project I have tackled, but - its going to have to wait one more day...

So, in the mean time. I'm going to share this girly, feminine, and super lovely home designed by portuguese designer Ana Antunes. I've had this first picture on my inspiration board on Pinterest for a while, and I seem to return to it for some inspiration quite often hint, hint.

When I saw the entire place, I fell in love all over again. Its just pretty. And comfortable. And totally girly...

THE ART OF THE KITCHEN PENDANT

While selecting lighting for our new home, I've had a particularly difficult time choosing pendant lighting to hang over the island. There are so many looks I love... but a really particular overall design scheme which carries through the rest of the house... I love these commercial kitchenesque pendants that are slightly glamorized by their chrome finish...

These shades are slightly more decorative, and seem to add a little more warmth and depth to the space.

I love that these lights draw your eye upward, and seem so much more than kitchen pendants...

Which would you choose?

MY 23RD YEAR...

I've been so busy in the last few months, weeks, and days - that I really forgot my birthday was upon me. It's kind of hard to believe another whole year has passed me by...

I didn't want to let today come and go without reflecting on this year - and what an amazing 365 days its been, blessed just to celebrate getting to live life.

This year I continued to grow my business, let it take me in new directions, and have accepted new and unexpected opportunities, I got engaged and married my best friend, my biggest supporter and the love of my life, acquired a new and wonderful family, we bought a house and have started a remodel to make it a home of our dreams, our best friends brought their first beautiful child into the world, my parents celebrated 27 years of marriage... its been a year of amazing blessings and happiness.

Its exciting to be able to have a place where I can keep record of my reflections, and also share it with such a supportive and loving community. Thanks for following along and being part of my life that I so much enjoy.

If my 24th year is anything like my 23rd... its going to be an exciting and unexpected ride and I'm looking forward to every minute...

M IS FOR MASCARA

When it comes to makeup, I'm generally pretty habitual. Mascara is a completely different story. When I was younger, I bought into the idea that department store mascara was the superior product, while I no longer think thats the case - I try a new mascara nearly every single time I buy a new one. I'm currently using Maybelline Colossal Volume pictured above in yellow and it's really not my favorite.

I want to know what your favorite mascaras are ?!

Do you have one that is nice and smooth, that doesn't flake during the day, and isn't impossible to remove at night? [thats asking for perfection, I know]

Have any of you tried any organically formulated mascaras?

WHEN OPPOSITES ATTRACT

I've never been particularly fond of leather furniture. To me, it just doesn't scream, "warm" or "cozy"... which take precedence in a living room in my opinion. However, these living spaces which effortlessly mix and match upholstery with leather are putting this combination into a whole new light...

the clean lines of the leather pieces really do give a certain chicness to these rooms

they also provide texture which is a great way to create a well rounded visual space

and in this particular space... your getting the best of many worlds - leather, tufting, and upholstery.

Lately, I have put more and more emphasis on defining my personal style. Trying to spend less frivolously while shopping for clothes, and rather putting together outfits, mix and match combinations... figuring out exactly what I want to be exuding when I get dressed everyday.

I'm sure most of you are well familiar with Blair over at Atlantic-Pacific.. she's got simply flawless taste, and her outfits are absolutely inspiring. In my quest to be more well put together - I've taken a few pages from Blairs preppy handbook, if you will, as well as the j.crew catalogue ... and when it really comes down to it.. I love the mix of color, pattern and excitement that these outfits offer.

A DREAM HOME

Today I'm finally sharing some big, exciting news that I have been waiting to share on my blog, and it comes in perfect time to be sharing my "Dream Home" today over at La Dolce Vita. So head over and check it out!!

I love love love! Paloma's "Dream Home" series, and I had a lot of fun putting mine together. While I was at it, I wanted to really put thought into the aesthetic of exactly what it is that I wanted. On any given day I could tell you I want a house inspired by the punchy colors and patterns of Palm Beach, and on another I might tell you I want Gray and white with reclaimed woods...

However, I kept coming back to the JK Place hotels featured in Lonny Magazine's October/November issues, and I couldn't pull myself away. It seems they are the perfect combination of the dark and cozy tones, with light and bright finishes... they truly are a page out of the "dream home" book I have in my mind. So, today, I thought I would revisit them and what is so great about them...

White bathrooms always feel clean. Despite the small space of this one, it feels open and calm.

The pops of color and pattern are welcoming and add excitement to the small vignettes...

Owner and designer of the JK Place Hotels says that these unique collections are what makes the spaces so different. I love these small statues...

IN LOVE WITH LEOPARD

I'm working on a new project which hopefully I will be sharing more about tomorrow, and it has really got me thinking I need some more leopard print in my life...

Its so fun, and comes in such an array of styles, it would be easy to find a print that matches practically any room's aesthetic. Now - don't get me wrong, I don't plan on adding cheetah to every room, but a little bench or ottoman here or there sounds about perfect...

LITERARY DINING

The first dining room I ever saw that was also a "library" was a beautiful dining room set, paired with some "library" wall paper. Somehow, it didn't look as bad as you might imagine, but - not nearly as beautiful as these multi-purpose library/dining spaces.

For most people, formal dining spaces are one of the least occupied rooms in their homes, and should they have them- libraries [in any capacity] are as well.

By combining them, it not only gives a place to spread out your work and books comfortably...

But provides space for a pretty and unique alternative to wallpaper, mirrors, and art. I think it makes it ultimately cozy.

These dark dining rooms set the perfect tone for a romantic dinner for two any night of the week, or a warm and inviting friday night with friends in the dead of winter!

I have always loved the idea of displaying your favorite books on a big round table - they would be easy to remove to set the table, and provide for a more stylized look when your not using the table.

NEW DIRECTIONS

Friends, you may have noticed that there has been a little bit of radio-silence here during the last few months. No - I haven't given up, or forgotten about this space that I love so much, it's just that this has been what has probably been the busiest time of my life. I'm back home after a month and half away, my wedding, some traveling, a little work, and then some and I really couldn't be more excited to "get back to work if you will...

However, that work won't be the same anymore. I've been feeling that gentle tug on my heart for the last few months to move in a different direction. When I started my blog- the objective was simply to catalogue and share my love of interiors. As its grown, so has a business that I never intended or expected, a business doing graphics and web design related projects. While I am eternally grateful for the opportunities and the wonderful, kind, and patient clients I have had the pleasure of working with - my heart simply isn't in that place anymore...

I have had an increased demand for Interiors-based projects, and ultimately thats truly where my passion lies.

After this point in time, I will no longer be accepting new blog or website design projects. I may take the occasional inquiry for graphics, but this will be on a case by case basis as my schedule allows while I proceed to explore a new avenue. Again, THANK YOU to all of you who have supported my business in the last year - it is my hope that you might continue on this journey with me into something new and exciting.

As far as my blog goes, I will be back everyday and then some!

I want to reconnect with my readers, fellow bloggers, and the companies who are so supportive of what I do here. DINING ROOM DILEMMA

While vacationing is wonderful, I truly can't wait to get home.

The fall colors [and temperatures] are not only a great reminder of the "cozy season" but one that i always look forward to because its also the segway into the "entertaining season". As soon as M and I get home, we will be embarking on yet another move. This time - a dining room is on top of my priority list. I want a place that our friends and family can gather to celebrate, relax, and enjoy meals. I just can't seem to decide exactly which direction I want to take. Taking hints from the table we already received as well as our fine china, and every day dishware, I created two different looks...

I love the sophisticated feel of this board and knowing that these colors and textures would blend in to a beautiful cozy and warm space - perfect for those long Minnesota winters.

Eternally inspired by Anna Spiro's clean and bright design tastes, I wanted to play with color and pattern in this room. I love that on the dreariest day, that olivey wallpaper would lift your spirits - and, who doesn't love a pink chair? With the fun color and pattern way on the dishware, it would be easy to add visual texture to the room by displaying it in a pretty glass armoire.

Last week, M and I splurged a little on an item we have had our eye on for quite some time. I've been waiting for the right time to introduce the newest member of our family.

She's charming, and cute, and truly has a heart of gold. She also has friends in all sorts of high places. Mantles and coffee tables are just a few of the places of rest her friends who call beautiful spaces across the globe "home"...

Her name is, Lady.

Hi Everyone! My wedding is finally over and I can get back to putting all of those stolen moments back into blogging. It was an absolutely insane weekend - I'll share more about it later - and I'm really just so thrilled to have my life back! After spending this past month at the beach [and receiving and absolutely amazing wedding gift, thanks J!] I am all about adding some beautiful beach photography to my home...

The Christian Chaize series of photos at this beach have long been some of my favorites. I love the feeling of these photos- light, nostalgic, and colorful. Everytime I see a beach photo taken with these same characteristics and hung in an unexpected room, I fall in love with them all over again...

EMERALD ON MY MIND

Cozy and clean natural colors continue to dominate interiors this fall, while neon's dominate the runways. While I love the neon trend, I think its better left off of my sofa, and on some fashion accessories. This being said, I still love the idea of bringing a little color into a more muted palette.

Emerald green is a jewel tone that always seems to feel luxurious and welcoming, enveloping really.

I love the way that these emerald curtains make these two spaces instantly enlightened...

It always makes me happy to share something from my sweet city. Artful Living is a quarterly luxury lifestyle magazine that I always enjoy reading through, and when I came across this beautiful apartment, my heart skipped a little beat...

The mix of textures around every corner is truly capturing...

What's even more interesting is how Andrew Flescher and his partner designed this apartment on a dime. They can only live in it for one year! and have turned it into something seriously gorgeous.

Instead of replacing the floors, they painted them, replaced their counters with ones from ikea, and tiled their kitchen with a standard subway tile from Home Depot. Their apartment is a true testament to what you can get done by being thrifty and mixing the right elements together.

SNAPSHOTS FROM: MY WEEKEND

The last few weeks of my life have probably been some of the busiest ever.

My wedding is 6 weeks away, and as many other brides might tell you - at this point it pretty much consumes you. I spent much of this weekend at my parents lakefront home, and around my little neighborhood enjoying the sunny moments the weekend offered...

Things got off to a great start when this absolutely gorgeous bouquet was delivered from my sister and brother in law to be. I'm so lucky to have such thoughtful people in my life!

These beauties arrived from the lovely and talented Ashley [at Lemon and Lavender] and I couldn't be more thrilled. It's just a sneak peek, but I was dying to share!

I spend a lot of time riding around my little scooter, and my favorite outings are the ones that include my pup, too!

My dear friend Kara, [you may know her as Miss Cheeky Chic] and I spent an afternoon giving these little electronic boats a go. Trinket spent the afternoon unexpectedly jumping off the boat and swimming.

My sweet cousin[and bridesmaid!] gave these fun, beaded friendship bracelet to me, and I have been wearing them ever since!

Originally having seen vignettes of this lovely Canadian apartment before, I was naturally intrigued when I saw the whole spread in this months Adore Home Magazine. True to Aussie style, really, are the sumptuous bright colors juxtaposed with clean white...

I think I might even have a little design crush on Peter Wild, who decorated this space absolutely flawlessly. He clearly has a wonderful understanding of color and texture - and a meticulous eye for how they work together...

The stripes, the florals, the fantastically feminine chandelier.. paired with classic pieces of furniture and luxurious textural elements like natural fibers and tufting is complete perfection.

The seemingly unexpected room with little bright color works because these colors are muted, as the bright colors are very true hues.

Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker's Hamptons bedroom is light and airy. The fluffy bed looks like the perfect place to nap during those high afternoon temps...

This bathroom is so spacious and light-filled. I love the way the countertops to the bathtub appear to be one seamless piece of material.

The next best thing to a pool? Feeling like your outside while actually sitting in the air conditioning. This terrarium like space below is inspiring and beautiful.

DARK-HUED DAYDREAMING

I know... you're probably thinking "It's the middle of summer, and I want to see something bright and cheery" But - I just can't get over these dark-hued spaces this week. There is something glamorous and classic about them that invites your eye to linger a little longer, and maybe if you were there, you might too.

I love the way these light and white beachy trinkets finish off the styling of this bookcase. It feels personal and pretty.

this workspace has been a long time obsession. however, I might change those photos out for something a little more personal, and use some silver-plated frames for a more glamorous effect.

Paging through House Beautiful every month is a delight. This month's issue was especially fun to read as it focused on small spaces. Its a talent to beautifully decorate any home, but to skillfully decorate a small [at that, very small] home without it feeling cramped or over done proves exceptional talent...

This gorgeous 150 square foot Chicago kitchen designed by Summer Thornton hits all the right high notes. Black lacquered cabinets, carerra marble, and mirrored accents to bounce the light and make the space feel bigger.

There kitchen itself is glamorous, but the vintage accents give it life, and warmth - I think this would be the favorite space of the home if it were mine!

A TIFFANY BOX BEDROOM

A client of mine is a recent college grad who is eager to have a stylish place on a tight budget. After she had painted her walls a pretty tiffany blue, and moved in her lovely distressed white/tiffany blue dresser - she felt like she didn't know how to make the room come together the way she had envisioned...

So, I helped her by putting together this board, and went to work. I felt that a "Tiffany's Box" room could quickly turn juvenille with too much bling, so I chose some other "sparkly" accessories that still felt grown up. The glass bubble pendants hanging over each side table give ambiance and glimmer. While these mirrored dressers were way over budget, I found some similar at Home Goods for a fraction of the price. At Ikea we found this bed which is similar to what she was originally looking at. Its clean lines and color make it the perfect base for the already bright room. By adding the white bedding with a hint of aqua, it all ties together. The best part? The mock restoration hardware bedding is actually Fieldcrest for Target!

Sometime when I think back on the only apartment I ever had by myself, I wish I would have erred a lot more feminine that I did. Don't get me wrong- it was a cute apartment, but this little bachelorette pad designed by Samantha Pynn is just dripping with girly delight...

To give these old chairs new life, she painted them this sweet blue color, and had them reupholstered to be sunny and fun!

When they say "its all in the details" it certainly holds true for this apartment, by mixing the pretty mirror and antique styled lamp with these more contemporary and polished dressers- the look is soft and personal.

The way that these bookcases are filled to the brim yet still styled, is something I totally envy, they almost look like display cases for her life. And- who doesn't love a great little bar space?

A classic pattern that really has never lost its allure only becomes more exciting in the bold colors and sometimes tropical sceneries it is now offered in...

While toile isn't as widely used today, I still get a little ping of happiness everytime I see it used in a beautiful space.

REDEFINING

We have gone between redecorating, buying a place, renting a bigger place, and back to redecorating more times than I would like to mention over the past few months. Today I woke up bright and early at 7:15 in what M likes to call "my cleaning mood" and was ready to make some changes...

Working mostly, or entirely with what we've already got, I'm ready to add in a new sofa and work on the overall feel of the apartment. Originally styled very boldly, I'm ready to quiet things down a little bit. I'm dying for a white sofa, but that's just out of the question thankyou pets! ...

Despite the bold color, I plan to highlight the soft glamor of the gorgeous silk curtains that already exist against the white shelving and expansive windows...

On the blank wall that will be behind the new sofa... I'm going to highlight some of our favorite memories with a frame collage on some thin, free floating shelves...

Since I have elected not to do a traditional registry dishset [think jonathan adler combined with kate spade], as well as a menagerie of great glassware and table linens, it would be great to have a place to display these items rather than keeping them behind closed cupboards.

Since Blogger was down on Friday, I am bringing last weeks installment of "My Interior Life" to you today! Many of you probably already know the handsome and charming english chap Will over at Bright Bazaar, but if you aren't yet familiar, be sure to visit him and get lost in the endless pages of bright and happy rooms!

My Life:

I've always loved...Bright colours. Even when I was a kid my trainers were the brightest on the block!

I wish I'd designed...The Oswold sofa.

My guilty pleasure is...Marmite on toast with lashings of butter. Ultimate comfort food.

My favorite smells are...Cherry blossoms, freshly baked cakes and coffee.

The best gifts are...Ones given with love and thought.

The greatest lesson in life...Treat others the way you would like to be treated yourself.

My Inspiration:

I like to personalize things by...Mixing in new pieces with old, along with unique things I have made myself. I recently made an owl cushion, which now sits on my sofa alongside pillows from H&M and Zara Home, and a vintage design I picked up at a flea a few months ago. I love how it is a mix of high street, vintage and a one off.

The designer I admire most is...Jonathan Adler - seriously, his work is so, so good.

My favorite place in the world is...Being in the English countryside. I grew up in a tiny village in the country, so it will always be special to me even though I love living in the city now.

Happiness itself is...not a destination, it is a state of mind.

My proudest professional achievement...Seeing my styling work in magazines across the world.

My Home:

My Home is...in a renovated warehouse in London that used to be a factory making uniforms during the World Wars.

I collect...Owls!

I prefer brightly coloured walls because...I think they make for a great backdrop for both art and furniture alike.

I covet...vintage glassware.

My 3 essential cooking ingredients are...Garlic, chili and basil.

My only interiors rule is...Don't be afraid of colour, and remember it doesn't have to be bright: Pastel shades work wonders just as well as the brightest hue in the book.

Red... its timeless, its classic - and everytime we move, I say I'm not going to have red in the house again. And everytime, that fails. A wonderful color that add vibrance and warmth to a room and somehow makes it a little more appealing...

A color that's attainable in practically every design element you can think of, look beyond pillows and accessories to add a hint of red. The red rug above is unexpected and unassuming- the Provencial feel of the room remains, yet gains excitement with the floor. Same with the lampshades below... these spaces with otherwise distinct color palettes are enlivened by the simplicity of the one hint!

As I get older, and my mom and I get closer - my appreciation for her only deepens with every passing day, for all mothers as a matter of fact. Often a thankless job, with no "sick days"- Mothers are the epitome of endless love and affection..

Life really comes full circle when you are old enough to recognize how amazing your mother is.

Mine - I couldn't be more proud of. She is 50 years old and going back to school to become a hospice nurse. She devoted her every minute to raising us to be upstanding human beings, and now wants to devote her life to offering her sweet soul to those who are in their last precious moments.

... mom I'm so lucky to call you mine.

To mine, and to all mothers- Thank You for all your hugs, your encouragement, your smile even on the hard days, and for everything you do. You are appreciated more than you could ever know.

TIMELESS WITH MR. TOPOL

As much as I love a Palm Beach inspired home, it was refreshing to open up the May House Beautiful and find an elegantly masculine home oozing with soul and personality. Not only was I drooling over each of the spaces, Stan Topol is a charming interior design veteran with smart quips and great advice...

"I don't like Sheetrock, and white walls are sterile. This black patent wallpaper is glamorous and makes the walls disappear." says Stan. Glamorous they certainly are, they also provide a stunning backdrop for the white matted photographs, as well trinkets on the shelves.

Stan's office is truly one of the gems of the house. The light stone floors against the glossy wallpaper and antique furniture really lends itself to a feeling of ease and comfort.

Seemingly a master at accessorizing, Mr. Topol says "My coffee table may look cluttered. But, if you look down on it, you'll see theres plenty of space for your coffee or tea." And- its true. His surfaces are well adorned with things that have defined his life, yet still have great functionality.

MY INTERIOR LIFE: MACKENZIE HORAN

Today I am so excited to introduce a new feature I will be posting every friday called "My Interior Life".

I have asked some of my favorite bloggers to join me, and I hope you will enjoy learning more about them too!

This week I am thrilled to have the adorable and talented Mackenzie Horan from Design Darling. If you haven't already seen her work from within the pages of Rue, you will certainly want to head over to her blog for a daily dose of fabulous...

My Life:

I've always loved...

Arnold Palmers, fashion magazines, and the French language.

I wish I'd designed... Jil Sander's Spring 2011 collection. I have never been so smitten with the entire look and feel of a couture collection but this one — with its happy stripes, punchy pinks, and playful peplums — had me at hello. think I will remember those colors and silhouettes forever!

My guilty pleasure is... coffee ice cream, particularly Friendly's Vienna Mocha Chunk. (It's just as bad for you as it sounds.)

The best gifts are... experiences. It's nice to spend money but it's nicer to spend time.

The greatest lesson in life... for me thus far has been to say "I love you" every time you hang up the phone and every night before you fall asleep. It's a nice way of not taking the future for granted and it's better safe than sorry!

My Inspiration:

I like to personalize things by... ideally with monograms by Leontine Linens! Until that's in the budget, I like to use favorite colors and pieces with personal meaning, both in fashion and interiors.

The designer I admire most is... Tory Burch in fashion and Mary McDonald in interiors, two designers who aren't afraid of color and bold graphic pattern. In reality I'm probably a little more Ralph Lauren (classic and lots of navy), but these two are something to aspire to!

My favorite place in the world is... Surfside Beach on Nantucket or 7th Street Café at Bucknell. I spent my childhood summers at the first and much of my college career at the second.

Happiness itself is... the health and happiness of family and friends. And a really, really good vanilla latté.

My proudest professional achievement... lies somewhere between interning for Jonathan Adler and seeing my writing published in Rue Magazine. Both were major personal and professional triumphs. I also recently began taking on a couple of interior design projects which is an exciting new challenge. Now if I could just nail down my post-grad plans!

My Home:

My home is... forever a work in progress. So much of my life is in flux now with graduation in May but I imagine decorating will kick into high gear once I've decided on a city (and an apartment) for next year!

I collect... beach rocks, office supplies, and snail mail.

I prefer my hot pink walls because... they make me feel like I live in the Barbie dream house. But I always fall for white walls with lots of big abstract art. And powder rooms with statement wallpaper that wouldn't work anywhere else. And little jewel box rooms painted in emerald or navy. So really, I don't discriminate.

I covet... art of all kinds. I've been sourcing different pieces for a client project and it's leaving me anxious to spend my savings on all these new Etsy finds!

My only interiors rule is... to have fun! If you love it, do it.

CHINOISERIE CHIC

Whether its spring in the air, or the light and often colorful feel - chinoiserie is on my mind.

The little bit of detailing on the pieces of furniture, and the pattern like designs have me swooning after a few pieces of my own...

this jonathan adler designed space has always been a favorite. the painted chairs really make the pattern on the back of them a design element in the room!

Chinoise is often girly and dainty, like this chandelier- maybe thats the draw?!

WHY DON'T YOU?

... have a Backgammon party?!

It was cool enough for Slim Aarons in the 70's, and I can't seem to think of a more casually cool and classic way to pass the time...

With its rich history this time-honored traditional game is sure to elicit the competitive nature in all of your nearest and dearest- you might have to remind them that it's just a game...

throw in a few fun desserts, appetizers, and surely a well stocked bar, and you're in for some old fashioned fun all night.

If you really want to get into it, you could find a board thats perfectly suited to your tastes and color preferences. This is something you just might have forever. I love the almost air that comes out of the board when you open up the ones M has had in his family for a long time- you just get the feeling of all the wonderful memories many people have made over a few games...

If a board just isn't serious enough for you, maybe you want to dedicate a little space to the game? Oomph Online has the answer. That table just drips with class- while I just drip with envy. Its stunning...

RULE OF THUMB: TAKE AWAY OR ADD ONE?

Yesterday while doing some styling work, I had lots of time to ponder the age old question.

When styling and a space just doesn't look right, do you take away or add?

I think a lot of stylist will go with the "take away" but sometimes I think that adding a few more things gives a space a little more dimension and character...

Could you live with things slightly cluttered? Or is it neat piles and well defined spaces for you?

Spring is here my friends. I think everyone is smiling a little bigger, disposition is a little sunnier, and the warmer temperatures are here to stay. The ladies over at High Gloss Magazine are doing an incredible job, and to say I'm kind of obsessed with every last page is an understatement. When I flipped through this particular feature - it had me dreaming of the days when I didn't have pets, manly hobby parts lying around... and how glorious it would be to live with only white...

the hints of dark wood so well compliment the beams in the living room, and despite its saturated color, it almost goes unnoticed.

the way the homeowner has carried the design into her outside living spaces really completes the look of the home, and pulls it all together.

could you live with all white?
