TRIBAL PREP

Lately I have been obsessing over what lets call a style, not as much a trend. When I think of my favorite designers, sure Miles Redd and Ryan Korban come to mind - but two of my true absolute faves are Anna Spiro and Jamie Meares. I think they nail this whole "Tribal Prep" thing - and I just don't think you can call it bohemian because when was seersucker ever boho? Not once, not never in my book. So rather than giving you the usual "grand scheme" photos, I stuck to these little vignettes. Anna and Jamie are vignette masters and I love to really study these small snippets...

NATE BERKUS FOR TARGET

Living in Minneapolis and being in your twenties is often synonymous with working for Target. I do not, but, all but one or two of my friends do.  Beneficially, I hear this and that about lines that are about to hit the shelves before they do, and look forward to what's next. Nate Berkus' new housewares line is one that in my opinion flew under the radar a little bit. It was a refreshing change on the endcaps as I shopped for not so exciting counter-spray and paper towels this weekend. I love the trendy yet not in-your-face patterns, and the clean take on a few classic pieces...

Here are a few of my favorites [they're all available in stores]...

Also, want in on a little Target secret? For these types of lines, always try your SuperTarget first. The few and far between "city" Target's carry a much smaller inventory across the board.

ONE YEAR

Marc, a year ago today, we made promises to always be kind and loving to each other, to support each other through thick and thin, to celebrate in each others accomplishments and uplift each other in times of trial. These were just to name a few. To say that you have kept your promises would be an understatement. You are my biggest cheerleader, you have the kindest heart, and you make sure that each day I know that I am loved.  This year has brought so many things to us, and my favorite part isn't the outcome of them - it's the fact that we always stood side by side through everything.  Thank You for being the best part of everyday, my partner in crime, and most of all - the best husband a girl could ask for. I love you!!

A COZY CORNER

I love that fall is a season to decorate for. I would love to say that I've got leaf garlands running down my staircase or branches in a tall vase somewhere near my fireplace - but the truth is, this year I just dont have the time. With that said, I could see myself living in some of these rooms that are a tad darker, more rustic, and dare I say equestrian noted?

Shopping around, there have been some really great classic pieces at places you can go to today [pottery barn, world market...]. So, if you are like me and want to cozy your place up a little for the colder weather ahead, try some of these...
