LIVING WITH LINEN

I saw this a few days ago in the June issue of Living Etc. and have been drooling over it ever since. Why you ask? What could possibly be more fun and girly than a sweet little combination of pink and lavender? On top of that, throwing in some easy breezy linen, a white washed floor, and a few baroque accents... yummy!

DOMINO IS BACK!!

So, if you haven't already heard the absolutely amazing news that the Domino archives are back, now you have! Brides.com has come to the rescue and is hosting the all of our old favorites. Thank Goodness! In honor of it finally bringing happiness and rightness to the design world, I wanted to post a Domino article by one of my very favorites, Mr. Ryan Korban

Here are his tricks to "controlling clutter" or.. the way I see it, creating cute vignettes...

make stacks purposeful ( and adorn them with simple flowers or figurines if you so desire)

contain the small stuff

realize the power of trays... i don't know about you all, but I think I've gone overboard on this one.

boxes... use them as makeshift cabinets. I think they are important simply for the clean organizational aspect of a space.

smells... like you cleaned. Korban prefers lavender from diptyque as opposed to PineSol, I adore Caldrea linen spray. There are so many options, find one YOU love!
thank you dear brides.com for bringing this little ray of sunshine back into our lives!

LUCITE LOVE

Sorry about the delay this morning. Yesterday, I woke up sick out of nowhere, and have been dragging ever since! But, without further delay, this room is so intriguing...
such an interesting mix of elements and furniture choices...

I'm just loving that lucite table and the gorgeous mirror.

GARY SPAIN

I have a new crush, or, rather an old one. I have always adored these spaces...

but never knew that they were designed by the fun and eclectic Gary Spain
now, I'm kind of in love...

A MID-CENTURY MODERN GEM

Stumbling across this little gem, I couldn't not share it. Nestled in one of the most gorgeous places in the U.S. (Salt Lake City, UT) it is simplistic yet sophisticated...

The natural stone and wood floors really set the home's features apart. They are absolutely gorgeous accents.

This is truly what I loved when I saw it. This "planter wall" if you will, is something I dream about. How great would it be to have all that beautiful natural sunlight, and herbs to cook with right when you need them?

this pool is beautifully tucked away, and seems so private...

But, this little pool house seems truly serene. Wouldn't it be nice to spend a lazy/rainy afternoon in there?

BLACK AND WHITE PERFECTION

I would just adore spending all afternoon in this room. It radiates perfection for me right now. The simplicity in the color scheme, the mix of patterns, and the glamorous little touches. Lovely, no?

ONE LAST NOTE (before the weekend!)

I just saw this over at the blog Martha Moments, and it's a really cool and easy initiative. To be completely honest, I have no idea how carbon emissions from a blog work, but, planting a tree is always environmentally friendly anyway right?  For those of you with blogs, check it out!

My blog is now carbon emissions free!

J'ADORE THE PAINTED FLOOR

This whole room is gorgeous.  The gallery wall, victorian accents, and flower arrangements are discussions of themselves. But. I absolutely NEED a painted floor like that someday...

GAGA FOR GARDEN STOOLS

The garden stool trend has been around for some time now, but, even though I thought they were so cute, and often chic, I just never really got on board. However, after seeing that perfectly placed mint green stool in the black bathroom featured in Lonny this month, I am SO on board! There is a fabulous array of styles to fit any space, and I am just convinced they are a great finishing touch.

p.s. I've been working on the layout in an effort to give you all bigger pictures, is it better?

IN LOVE...

While spending the better part of today in the airport, I did a little furniture browsing online. My first stop is always Z-Gallerie, I have an absolute love affair with it. To my delight, they have just debuted their new living room furniture for summer... and my heart skipped a beat when I saw this collection...

I drooled over the same thing last week at crate and barrel, but it was double the price! We currently have Z Gallerie sofas, and they are truly the most comfortable sofas ever... but everything about these I am just lusting after. The linen, the slipcovers, the simple lines...

CRISP + CLEAN: CLASSIC WHITE BEDDING

I was delighted to see all of the classic and crisp white bedding in Lonny this month when I first opened it up, but last night when putting together this post, I realized that almost every bedroom featured last month has this beautiful bedding, but in all different colored stitching and finishes. Its a true testament to the beauty that clean white bedding can add to a room, and how you can decorate any room around it!

I recently received my Restoration Hardware Italian Stitch bedding and it is amazing how something as simple as bedding can make all the difference! Restoration Hardware offers stitching in about 20 different colors and in white sheets or ivory. While that may not be for everyone, here are some other gorgeous choices!

the Pottery Barn bedding is on sale for between $20-100!

BRITISH GENTRY IN THE CITY

From the moment I saw the picture of this charming mantle, I knew the house was going to be fabulous. And... it fell nothing short of my expectations. Will, a transplant from the UK decorated this little Toronto cottage to suit his english chic with a hint of north american design taste, and it. is. stunning! The moody gray walls accented with clean white and black is the perfect base for the eclectic mix of decor...

The deep blue walls are just dreamy... and the gorgeous victorian frames... yes please!

His perfectly appointed "dressing room" is so preppy, yet manly, I just love all of the different hints of plaid, and wood, and little fixtures like that horse and shield! And so many sweet little vignettes in this home...

Will transformed this small and somewhat plain bathroom into an absolute oasis!

Frames galore... I love the way he used this throughout his home and managed to completely coincide all of the artwork, yet still making it feel eclectic and homey.
